James Krenov first popularised this style of knife in the late 1970’s. Built around a blacksmith made Japanese Kiridashi carving knife the octagonal handle is shaped to fit your hand with a bandsawn finish for grip. The blade is fixed in the handle with a wedge and can be retracted when not in use.
